Again..I live here...I know what sort of fire this kind of stuff brings out in the Baptists (in particular and I assumed these were baptists without even looking for sure) and they feel (yes for real) that they are getting persecuted because of many recent court decisions. They are a very organized and determined bunch, no denying that.

(And BTW, I live in likely the most liberal area of the South as exists)

A common bumper sticker to see around these parts is "We still pray" and yet another that says "We still celebrate Christmas". One thing I learned quickly down here is never ever utter the words "god damnit" in any case. Its sacreligious to them (just an example). There is lots of that kind of stuff for the diehards...and they are everywhere. Someone once told me that in this county of some 230,000 people...there are well over 200 baptist churches, just to give you an idea. That doesnt include all the other ones..catholic, lutheran etc etc.
