I won't say it'll never break, but they are built pretty well, and never have humans inside to interfere. It's not really a complicated system that would need significant & constant maintenance. Basically just some warehousing racks, and a couple of elevating devices, + automation.
How often do automated devices in factories break down, my guess is not a lot.
