Exactly. Tate has shown some decent qualities, and not just in cleanup duty, but he is 28, has thrown 73 passes in his 3 year CFL career (including Sask's practice roster), but this is the CFL and a backup QB.

Things change pretty quickly over the course of a year in the CFL, and he could fade into irrelevance fairly quickly for any number of reasons. Ask John Grace, or Labinjo...those guys were bonafide starters and lost it all within a season for the most part.
Burris has to struggle extremely (and not his perpetual detractors definition of struggling) for there to be any chance of him not playing the next few seasons here after this one, and that includes being protected in the expansion draft in 12 months+.
