I just returned from watching the Tragically Hip play their first concert in their hometown of Kingston in over ten years.
There were about 25,000 at the outdoor event at the Royal Military College (BTW, what ever happened to WessThompson?) and it was an awesome show. It was a charity event called Across the Causeway and also featured Matt Good, the Trews, Hugh Dillon, and others. It was also hosted by Dan Ackroyd, who joined the Hip in their first of two wicked encores to play harmonica during "Locked in the Trunk of a Car". Doug Gilmour and Kirk Muller also made appearances.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that it was an awesome experience of Canadiana and that everyone can expect an upcoming full-fledged tour from them soon.
