I will say however that while I was watching the movie, I never once thought that the movie would be better in 3D. Maybe a couple of the scenes where they are travelling from realm to realm might have been cool, but outside of that, 3D wouldn't have added to the experience for me. I do have a bias against 3D and hopes it goes away soon, but I don't think it will.

I saw it in 3D on Wednesday for the preview, and I agree with everything you say. There was no really huge 3D moment in the film, and a few times in the beginning, with the darkness and the action, it just served to make me nauseous.
Loved it though, and even the wife, who knew nothing of the character, quite enjoyed it
