The problem with the show for me was that it encouraged the audience to guess at cliffhangers and mysteries. They initially started solving the mysteries very logically with clues in the show, which was great. They then started introducing new non-reality based elements into the show, which I just found to be weak writing. Plust it took a lot of the fun out of the show as you were no longer able to accurately guess at anything as the answers ended up being spiritual stuff the writers made up off the top of their heads.

How do you know they were only dead in the flash sideways? Or they were dead at all? I just finished watching around March Madness time this year and I am not really familiar with the theories. Just wondering if that's how the writers explained it?
I really liked how they showed the island from different perspectives which made the mysteries more logical. Like- how the 'others' saw the plane crash, and Ben's perception vs the perception of the plane crash victims, etc.
