Excellent. Thanks for the information. I know how to operate a basic home network but I wasn't sure what to do in this situation.
As far as the Optik on Xbox.. I am just reading the FAQ and came across this:
What are the minimum requirements for using my Xbox 360 as a digital box with Optik TV?
You must have an unmodified Xbox 360 with a built-in hard drive, have a LIVE account, and subscribe to Optik Internet.
Additionally, your Xbox 360 cannot be the only digital box connected to Optik TV in your home.
How much does it cost to use my Xbox 360 as a digital box for Optik TV?
There is no monthly fee associated with access and maintenance of the Xbox 360 on the TELUS Fibre Optic Network.
A starter kit (Universal Media Remote and required cables) is required to use your Xbox 360 as a digital box and will be supplied for a one-time fee of $50. Existing Optik TV clients wanting to connect an Xbox 360 as a digital box will require a TELUS technician visit; $100 fee applies.
So it doesn't look like I'll be able to do this. I only have one TV so it would be the only digital box connected. Also, I don't have the media remote. Along with the $100 fee, I might as well just buy a network switch.
