That's the real issue with the youth vote. Saying that they support one party or another is one thing, but getting them to actually show up and vote is another. I know that I've talked to a dozen or so friends that say they like the NDP the best but that they didn't plan on voting.

I remember reading somewhere in the newspapers the past few days that the youth vote comes in two categories: University/college Students and the rest. Apparently it was found that voter turnout among the University/College bucket voted in the same turnout as the general population, but the rest had such an abysmal turnout it makes the whole age bracket look bad. So in order to meaningfully change the election you would need to grab the young non-post secondary crowd and win them over in a way the other parties cannot.
