Something I wrote today, perhaps a little late, but ahh well:
I don't usually talk politics on Facebook, as it usually ends up being mutual masturbation
or two people talking and no one listening. So this will be as non-partisan as possible.
One of the impediments on our current political process is negativity. When you're no longer voting for Jack Johnson, but against John Jackson, something has been lost.
Basing your vote off of HarperEatsKittens.ca or IggysWarPlans.com or JacksRubnTug.org isn't a positive election process, it's a negative one. If you dislike a party, what they've done and what they've said, that's fine and valid. But, before you vote for a party, examine their platform, and think about what the consequences of it will be on you, on Canada, and one the world.
If you think the Conservatives are best set to run the economy, vote for them.
If you think the Liberals will help best develop our health care and education system, vote for them.
If you think the NDP will best develop our nation’s social safety net, vote for them.
If you think the Greens will protect our environment best, vote for them.
Don't vote against, vote for. The difference in mindset and political discourse will make our system a more mature and effective one.
