One of the more bizarre moments of the federal campaign was when NDP Leader Jack Layton had the cheek to tell Quebecers that they're subsidizing the oilsands. "Under Stephen Harper, every single Quebecer is sending roughly $75 a year to subsidize dirty fossil fuel producers," he said, calling it a "gift from every Canadian to big polluters."
