If you walk up to the appropriate office and request a birth certificate, the certificate of live birth is what you get, you cannot get the original. This was done on TV with a reporter getting a guy born within days of Obama. That's what Hawaii gives, and that's ALL they give.
Obama had to request special permission to get a copy of the long form certificate.

This is exactly what you get in Montana, as well. When I requested my birth certificate for travel to Canada, it was a certificate of live birth. When my children were born, we completed the birth certificates in the hospital, and never saw them again. The hospital sends them to the county records office, and the county mails you a certificate of live birth. These politicians proposing new state restrictions could stand to do a little research.
If people are suggesting that there isn't a racial/cultural component behind the "birther" movement, they are either extremely naive, or are sympathetic to their views. I know, I live in a red state and hear it everyday. They have corrupted the original philosophies of the Tea Party with their social agenda, as well.
I've never voted for a Democrat for President, but the Republicans have effectively lost my vote until they pull their heads out.
