The CPC campaign isn't exactly based on fear, but I know what you mean. Its partly fear I suppose (in terms of how they characterize the other parties) and partly arrogant and bitter actually. They act as though they have a monopoly on good ideas or the direction that the country should be heading....in reality the population is divided on that though.

They act as though we can't possibly survive with a coalition or with them continuing in a minority....and in the next breath tell us how amazing they've done in getting us through the worst time since the great depression. That is fear-mongering at its finest! Thing is that people see through it and figure that if we just went through the worst of it with a minority then we'll be fine going forward with one!

In Alberta its even more arrogant though. No campaigning, no debating. Just absolutely nothing. To me this is so disgusting and disrespectful. Frankly the CPC deserves to lose a seat a two just based on that lack of effort and engagement. Its one thing to know that you are likely to win the seats, but a whole other to not bother presenting anything because you feel like you don't need to.

The episode today where they shouted down the CBC reporter and Harper wouldn't answer the question was really ridiculous. Between that and reading a twitter feed from Guy Giorno tonight just made me realise how poisoned that party is in terms of actually caring about democracy and trying to win votes by connecting with people. Its all attack ads and negative campaigns....
