No they will not. If it shuts down, it will be a necessary measure in order to complete the work required to deliver an infrastructure improvement that has been funded and promised to Calgarians. It would absolutely cause varying degrees of inconvenience to lots of people over the course of a few weeks, but it wouldn't be happening if it weren't necessary to allow for an improvement that, on balance, will provide a greater future convenience to most of those people.

On that note, the south LRT line is closed between Heritage and Anderson this weekend as a part of the Southland work. My guess is it is to work on signals that have to be moved to the new end of the platform. There will be shuttles running between Anderson and Heritage stations.
