Barcelo Marina Palace at $1050 is a worse deal in my opinion. It's in the 'below average' range of quality.

Breezes Jibacoa at $1002/person in June is a much better deal than either of these in my opinion. That gets you just into the range of 'extremely nice'.

The downside is it's in the middle of nowhere, and you mentioned wanting to be close to town.


Iberostar Playa Alameda at $1066 is probably worth a look too (high side of average quality, *just* below 'very nice') ..
