Had a few friends work there 2-3 years ago at Northland.

I wouldn't saying lying is outright encouraged but there's definitely a Lionel Hutz "the truth" (smiles and nods head) and "the truth" (frowns and shakes head).

At the end of the day employees are encouraged to lie because their sales are based on commission and a huge portion of that comes from warranty. The PSP (product service plan) is frequently lied about.
