I think I have the projector you're looking at and I also bought mine at Memory Xpress. I love it. My only complaint is the lens cap - you have to be careful not to adjust the focus on the lens when you put the cap on and take it off. An automatic cap would be way better.
I think you can get a decent set-up with your budget, but you'll have to buy your screen online (fundmark and I both bought our screens at
www.tigerdirect.ca) as any screens in Calgary seem to be way too expensive. There's also a good place online to buy your receiver - check out
www.electronicsforless.ca. They are based out of Toronto. I bought my receiver through them and I know Photon has bought some stuff from them, too.
