I can't read a book with a bent spine. I will strain my eyes to the maximum extent to keep from bending a spine of a book.

Every book on my shelf that I have read, which on this shelf is just a quick estimate/count of 50, has a perfect spine on it. I would go as far as to say they are near mint (Mint to me is unachievable in any sense after it has been fondled for any period of time, including hockey cards that sit in cases for 10 years but get touched for ten minutes).
