"I can't say enough about the focus and commitment of the players on this team, as well as its coaching staff and front-office personnel," Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said. "I'm sure the fans are frustrated, as we all are, with the ownership uncertainty, and with the inability to this point to close a transaction."
But Daly on Friday said he's committed to closing the deal in Glendale. At least "until it becomes clear to us that those efforts are futile or until we have no choice other than to move on."
He said,"At this point, I can't say when that will be."
City Manager Ed Beasley said the city is doing the best it can.
"There isn't a day that goes by where the parties are not looking to make the deal better," he said.
Hulsizer's group is ready for a resolution.
"It's curious why there are factors at play preventing the deal from getting done," Hulsizer representative Brad Goldberg said.
