I didn't really think I'd ever look into an American car when you want luxury, but based on those consumer reports (and Top Gear), I'd look at the Cadillac CTS. From looking around a little bit, it seems like you can get one at a pretty high spec for the 50-55k price range, and I think they're pretty sexy.
