It’s unknown how long the community will have to respond but count on a week to sell the vast majority of the MTS Centre’s 15,000 seats.
A poor response from the community would likely scuttle True North’s attempt to land an NHL franchise.
Good on them if they can do it. Lets roughly and pretty conservatively put the Flames at an average of $70 per seat per game (ranges from $21 to $167 for season ticket holders) including fees and taxes, as a season ticket price. Multiply that by 44 games. So about $3100 per seat, per season. Multiply that by 3 seasons, so over $9000 per seat, on average. Or broken down a bit, say 4000 seats that average $110 or more, which pushes is to close to $14K over 3 seasons.

What about the luxury boxes, which I believe in Calgary go for $125-$200k depending on location....are all of those to be committed to, and, paid up front for? For 3 years between $350K and $600K+ for the 46 suities?

And then, to do this cash call, and, obviously have all funds received from the 15000 suites and boxes, within a couple weeks, to be legit? Ambitious indeed, but as the article says, necessary to determine the "money where your mouth" factor is, to dispel the notion that Winnipeg can't afford the team.
