NHL's Gary Bettman may soon issue ultimatum on Coyotes deal

National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman could issue an ultimatum and drop-dead date as early as today for the city of Glendale to work out a deal with Matthew Hulsizer to buy the Phoenix Coyotes and keep them in Arizona.
Otherwise, the NHL will sell the team to a Canadian investment group who will move them to Winnipeg next season.
Bettman’s drop-dead announcement is expected late Thursday afternoon, and could put an official ticking clock on Glendale’s effort to help Hulsizer buy the Coyotes -- who are owned by the league.
