My wife and I finally bit the bullet and went to the weight management clinic at the local hospital. We had full physicals, and had some tests done to determine our resting metabolic rate (+/-2700 for me).
We were given a calorie limit to stick to (2000 for me/1700 for her), as well as the recommendation of taking 10,000 steps per day. We use the
Myfitnesspal.com app on our smartphones to log whatever we eat during the day.
I rarely make the step count, but I don't wear a pedometer when I jog. I'm training for my first 5K May 15th using the
Couch to 5K program.
