Yeah, a little too late for the Chiefs. Was it the game in Philly that they blew, the game against Dallas, or maybe not being able to beat a very bad Bills team that did them in, I don't know. They are an old team and they've accomplished nothing. I think coach Vermeil is finished after this year. At his age, and with how emotional he is, I think an NFL season really takes a toll on him. Hopefully he'll go back to broadcasting because I can't imagine there are too many people in the NFL who don't like the guy. Players like Trent Green, Willie Roaf, and Will Shields are all getting on in age. All can still play, but for how much longer? Do you go with the same group and try to find a receiver who can hold on to the ball, and hope that offence can stay healthy? Or do you accept that age is a problem, and re-tool the team with the hope of being better in a year or two. Larry Johnson looks like a guy you can build an offence around. Jarred Allen and Derrick Johnson are good bookends to start with on the defence. It certainly will be an interesting off season in K.C. Still Denver's going to be good as always next year, and San Diego will be back. Maybe it's not a bad idea to re-tool the team for the next couple of years with the hope of resurging as teams like Denver and San Diego come back down after their run.
