Actually, I found Traditional Ale's post useful. Some folks here sure get critical.
I'm in the market for a new business laptop and am getting some good ideas here. It's helping me narrow down my options.
My first computer was an Acer a very long time ago, before some here were born. I hate to tell you how much I paid for it and what I got for my money. It was sort of like buying a bicycle 20-25 years ago for the same money you could get a Toyota RAV for today. Yeah, like that.
Since then I think every computer I've owned has been Dell, except for the iPad 2. No computer has ever failed on me. I keep use them for 4+ years on average then replace them. They eventually develp issues more than I'm capable of fixing with my limited skills. I figure it's not worth getting a tech guy in to deal with them, so I upgrade for a few hundred bucks. I keep some of them around and have six now. I give some of them away to people who might not be able to buy computers.
Gotta go and finish this thread to make my next buying decision.
