Definitely check out the Ferry Building in San Francisco, it's a very cool building full of unique stores and a Farmers' Market on certain days. I remember there was one store dedicated to selling only mushrooms. Definitely check out Blue Bottle Co (fantastic coffee) and Scharffen Berger if you like dark chocolate.
Another great place to check out in San Francisco is Ghirardelli Square. Their (very pricey) chocolate sundae is delicious and their chocolates are to die for.
