Have never lived there, but has travelled there a couple of times. Great city, it's one of my favs, the city is beautiful it's right on the sea and lake and all the islands offer something different. It is more expensive but not unreasonable especially compared to other capitals.
People are friendly and speak English however if you want to learn Swedish it's not too hard as it's Germanic and similar to English. Even have English tv channels. Weather is definitely cooler than a lot of Europe but similar to Vancouver with rainy mild winters.
Honestly you should go, I would do it in a second, if I lived anywhere other than Calgary I would want it to be Stockholm.
