Not to take anything away from the terrible thing she did, but if she is really pychologically challenged, then she needs help.

Having said that, does giving her house arrest and pumping her full of drugs accomplish that? Her parents claim that they have been trying to find her help for years. She should have been sentenced to therapy at least.
