There's a bar nearby, Tudor Rose, but it isn't really close to the road and there are some detours that the guy could have turned at before so he might not have to pass it.
Road is a fairly major road, runs through most of Panorama and connects to several exits. Closest exit would have been to Stoney Trial E via 14th Street, you can also turn off at Hidden Creek Blvd to get to Bedding trial or go all the way to the other side of Panorama to get to the Superstore exit... there are a few other exits through residential areas as well.
