I don't care what a few 'classless' or 'immature' fans that come on boards and just spew up garbage have to say. Every organization has these fans.

I personally hope that the Jets return to Winnipeg. In my opinion, it will create one more rivalry between the Western Canadian teams. Watching a game with intense rivalry trumps watching one without. That is what I care about as a Calgary Flames Fan.

Can they be successful in Winnipeg? Well, I don't think they would be a 'rich team' by any metric. However, can they possibly be worse than Phoenix? Tickets are some of the cheapest in the NHL to come by in the desert, right? They still have a very, very poor turnout after so many years - and being competitive! It seems that Winnipeg would at least bleed less financially, and it SOUNDS as if they could actually turn a profit. The only question is "Can they keep up with the rest of the league for revenues?"

If they simply can not afford to have a near-cap team and be profitable, then there is a big problem in the long run. Every year that the cap keeps rising, it will hurt Winnipeg (and other smaller markets, I would think). Would Winnipeg still support a team that is a middle to lower-end cap team, with little hope of being a contender at any point?

On the flipside - are there any other cities that the Coyotes could be moved to? If it weren't for this economic crisis, then perhaps there would be another major US city to move the team to, but as it stands, from what people are saying, the only 'viable' markets to at least break even are Winnipeg, Quebec (after the new building is completed) and Hamilton (which seems a little improbable these days).

I personally would love the Jets back - 6 more games against a RIVAL. 6 more vastly entertaining and emotional games. To me, that is a win for Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
