Well, Charlie Sheen was paid 2 mill an episode on his show (25 episodes on average per season). You never know what they might offer a big star to be Carell's replacement.

With the filming schedule of most tv shows, it allows more than enough time to film movies on the side (6 months on, 6 months off). Not to mention that Will Ferrell's movie reviews have been going downhill fast for quite some time- this might be a way to revive his career. The schedule on a tv gig is probably much easier to deal with as well- less travel, consistent work schedule.

I have noticed that Carell's routine has been getting less and less funny recently. While it would have been impossible to replace him back in season 2 or 3, I think it might be good for the show at this point... although I think Jim Carrey would have been the ultimate replacement- talk about a guy that needs to go back to his roots!
