Cleanest, most efficient way to get rid of diseased and highly contagious livestock. I don't think some people understand that they want as little human contact with these things as possible so mass lethal injections/"firing ranges" aren't exactly a good idea and they'd probably cost a fortune. Also the lady crying in the video (I think she was) was kind of over the top. They're just pigs.
