Because ONLY pigs can nourish?

Their exist a variety of forms of sustenance, and though I am not vegetarian, find that the level of our consumption of meat (especially in North America) is frankly disgusting.

I think meat eating is perfectly ethical; however, indulging on it with every single meal of every day transgresses ethical frontiers... And tragically, our response is not a re-evaluation of our diet. Instead we manipulate and ignore natural processes all the while creating inhumane and unhygienic conditions.

An interesting argument, which, in my mind, renders this scenario morally ambiguous, is that not having "expedited" the death of these animals with minimal contact would risked the lives of many more. However, this does not absolve the operators of this (or these) slaughterhouses. They created, for the sake of a well known economic mechanism, and little more, conditions that deserve to be abhorred.

I think accountability is due.
