Not likely, the Canucks have a good team. If Winnipeg gets the Phoenix franchise they should, at least to begin with, expect similar sucess to what they saw first time around. Bryz won't re-sign in the summer (especially once he and everyone else knows the team will be moving to the peg) and once he's gone, that team folds like a house of cards. The peg better also hope Dave Tippet likes Winnipeg winters because if they lose him and Bryz they'll have a hard time even competing with the Oilers next season. We'll see just how many "rabid" Winnipeggers pack the dome to see their bottom feeder team, I'll go out on a limb and guess very few.
If I was a fan of the "Jets" and excited about their potential return I would, given what happened last time, be focusing my concerns on packing (see: getting enough people inside everynight to allow the team to not have to fold and leave town after a couple years) the MTS centre. Once your little city has proven it can do that, maybe you can start thinking about "packing" some of the leagues other rinks.
