I used to work at a place that had a major mouse problem. Everything was tried; poison, traps, some sort of foam/sticky/messy contraption. Nothing was working.

Then one day our secretary was sitting there and a mouse came and sat on her foot. She, of course, screamed and ran about.

Next day our manager went to a farmer he knew and brought back a kitten. All bills were paid by the employer, vet, food, litter, etc. The cat was not declawed or had its claws clipped.

Overnight our mouse problem disappeared. From finding mouse droppings everywhere, cables/cords chewed through, to none of that at all. Other departments were jealous, as their problem continued, but ours was gone, plus "a CAT!"

Then someone complained that having a cat roam about all the time wasn't "safe" for the cat due to the number of people about. He was left alone all weekend. And other whiny things, like he was allowed to jump up on computers and monitors and sleep there.

So we were ordered to get rid of the cat and did.

Mouse problem came back overnight.
