Should you want some United comrodary, please feel free to start a Man U thread so you can all bask in the glory of all that is Manchester United.

Well I can't quote anything as I have recently cleaned the garbage from my threads but I will address this as best as I can.
First off, I will never defend Nani - I have wanted him off the team since the disgraceful headbutt incident a few years ago. With that said he kind of made his own bed but the actions of the Liverpool players is indefensible - especially when it was a clear red card tackle. Combine that with the fact that his bone was exposed compounds the issue. Yet Liverpool continued to taunt him while madly gesticulating at the official (and Nani). The fact that Gerrard(!) has the audacity to tell him to get up with himself being one of the biggest floppers in the league is amazing.

Bolton confirm Holden is out for six months after the brutal tackle by Jonny Evans. Harsh for them, Holden has been great this season and is a player it's hard to not like.

It was a brutal tackle and there has been very little in rationalizing or whingeing about the call.

Holden has the right attitude as well - Just had a sincere phone call from Jonny Evans wishing me the best in my recovery, def wasn't intentional, just unfortunate part of the game

This implicitly condemns Nani as not having the right attitude - Nani publicly attacked Carragher after the incident despite the apology. As mentioned he is a disgrace (with decent skill) that I would rather not have on the team.

In this case, the ref got it right by sending Evans off. Evans and the rest of the United players got it right by not surrounding the ref, and the injured player and mocking him. Finally the fans got it right by cheering for Holden instead of booing and jeering him while he was taken off. Too bad the same couldn't be said about the Nani/Liverpool incident and others like it.

The only mistake here was not referencing the manner in which the official was approached. Evra was wearing the band so he had every right to be there. Evans was of course going to be there. Giggs should not have been talking but I am sure he gets a pass on some of these things (although it was a very controlled discussion) and Nani was an eavesdropper. Evra got the explanation and herded the others away and then the ref issued the red. No wild protests, body language etc or taunting of the injured player or anything directed at the ref.
There were no generalizations about relative class levels or stating that any team it was simply comparing two incidents. The first was a dog-puke gong show (by both teams) and the second was handled in a pretty much exemplary fashion (by both teams and the official) despite the importance of the moment. Sadly this is not the case for most red cards given during the season.
The response to this was incredibly (yet not unexpectedly) juvenile (hahahahahaha etc etc). Quit looking for something that isn't there.
