You make it sound like JTF-2 was sneaking around in those countries zapping insurgents.
They were invited to Nepal by the government there to train the Nepal army in fighting against rebels.
They acted as Body Guards for Canadian officials in Zaire, Congo, Rwanda and Tazania
Peru was interesting as Canada was asked to provide JTF2 to plan and execute an ambush on hostage takers, but the plan was aborted due to a negotiation failure with the hostage takers
I've heard rumors that they were in the Sudan hunting Taliban leaders at the request of the government there.
I think Bolivia they were used as Bodyguards.
The main theatres of action were in Iraq where they supposedly rescued members of a christian peacekeeping group that were being held hostage.
Afghanistan where they're doing a little of everything.
Bosnia where they hunted snipers, and were also supposed to rescue hostages, and were in one instance within three feet of a hostage taker when the rescue attempt was aborted.
They are also training hostage rescue and swat teams for Haiti and a bunch of other countries.
Operation Arrowhead is actually a very cool concept which is designed to deploy extremely quickly to international hot spots when requested. It will be made up of JTF2 members and members of the CSOR (special operations Regiment) in other words the best members of the Canadian Special Forces Community.
I think that the concept is similar to the more shadowy elements of the U.S. Delta Force.
There's an interesting reason why its called task force arrowhead
