Don't get me wrong...the cost is going to be large. No doubt. But as it stands it is likely a cost that is limited to the site with minimal public impact. Everyone of course hopes it won't get worse but there are numerous reasons to believe that this will not have a huge effect on the general population (unlike an oil spill for example).
