Default Anyone repaired their own LCD TV?

I bought a Samsung TV just under 2 years ago for some pretty serious money (to me anyway) and last week it just stopped working.

I did some reading online and found out that several components are faulty in this particular unit's power source and that there is a class action lawsuit in the States. As a result Samsung is offering free repairs, but only if it is this component.

Local TV repair guy they called came and took my tv away, and of course now says it is other more expensive components in the power source that have gone and thus will not bill samsung but myself - a really big bill I can't afford this month.

I've looked up the power board and it's not that expensive but has anyone replaced the power source in an LCD TV themselves - is it difficult to do?

Pretty random thing so I don't know if anyone has attempted it but I thought it would be worth a try on CP. I traded in a bunch of games for Dragon Age 2 earlier in the week and I am dying to try it. Sorry to any TV repair guys, not trying to undermine your job or anything, just don't have the money to pay for repairs to an expensive TV I expected to last longer.
