Condolances and thank you...

RE: Gimp's thoughts. I kinda agree. More than kinda, I'd probably have shot the guy. Like it or not, I'd blast teh ****er right in the face and let a jury decide my fate. At least I wouldn't wake up every morning wondering how I let a colleague die and then spend 7 years in jail for killing her. (yeah, yeah, drama queen 4x4. It's pretty much true in Canada).

This sorta reminds me of the cracked out crook that held the pharmacist hostage with a needle or a gun in TD square a few years ago right before christmas.

Luckily for the family of the pharmacist, the cop had the balls and the aim to blow the ****er's head off. Sure, the trauma sucks, but it beats the hell out of a widow's lifetime of sorrow and complete loss of faith in the justice system.

Seems these days that criminals in canada are the ones that get the sympathy, and the victims (and/or families of victims) are teh ones that are left pondering life. Kinda backwards.

Sorry for the threadjack.

RIP. IMO, a hero is like beauty. It's in the eye of the beholder. To me, people that risk their lives (and often pay with them) to protect the public are heros.

EDIT

I just read my post and I think it sounds like I'm condemning the other officers for "letting her die". Kinda came out wrong.
