Went to an afternoon showing of Rango at Chinook, and they had 3 rows of new Dbox seats installed. Rango didn't use the seats, but a 3 minute clip of Polar Express used them as a demonstration.

D-Box seats, which are available at a premium price, shake, shimmy, and rumble in sync with the on-screen action, allowing movie-goers to enjoy certain flicks with an added dimension of interactivity. The movements are subtle, can be dialed up or down, and only occur when necessary in a movie: for example, during a high-speed car chase, or a high action fight scene. To achieve this, D-Box personnel code participating movies frame-by-frame prior to its theatre release.

The deal will eventually see 120 D-Box seats added to 10 theatres in Canada over the next year.
