I have a relativley good background and experience with installing remote starters. (MECP certified and spent 9 years installing professionally) So I understand you remote start your vehicle from your house, go out to the vehicle when you are ready to leave, unlock and open the door to get in and the cat shuts down only to be restarted seconds later?
Really it all depends on what is used for a trigger wire. The only one I have ever used and is the only one that makes sense to use is the brake wire but I suppose you could use a door trigger but it is a poor choice. I would take it back to where you had it installed to correct. If you don't mind me asking where did you have it installed?
