I think that study could be done with Jellybeans instead of children and get the same results.

If one group was given information on how fattening Jellybeans are and how they may lead to diabetes and the other group not given that information the group given the negative information would report jellybeans tasting better.

This study really shows nothing about parenting. It just shows that humans do not always make economical decisions and are poor at risk assessment and cost benefit analysis.
