a few of my favourites from this year:

King's X - Ogre Tones (absolutely impeccable vocal work on this album from all three band members...and it isn't studio tricks. They reproduce it live every show. Do yourself a favour and pick it up and listen to it 5-10 times in a row preferably with good headphones...as with most King's X albums you won't like it the first time)

Kathleen Edwards - Back To Me (Saw her open for blue Rodeo in BUffalo a few years back and been a fan ever since. Both Back to Me and Failer make it into the CD player once atleast once a week)

Matt Mays - Matt Mays and El Torpedo (local Halifax band who opened for Blue Rodeo on the last noational tour. A great album IMO)

Megadeth - The System Has Failed (Not from 2005 but the last bit of 2004 but who cares...Mustaine is back!)
