Except that you have power to all 4 wheels instead of having power to two wheels.
Turning on ice is a lot easier in a 4x4 as well since you have all 4 wheels using power.
If you were driving on a icy Deerfoot with your family are you telling me you'd feel as safe in a 2wd than you would in a 4x4? Stopping I agree it makes no difference at all, but while actually driving on ice you better believe it makes a difference. All 4 wheels having power is way better than having 2 wheels with power.
