Taking it when they did (42nd over), makes no sense. Especially when India were doing nothing in their attack, they were allowing easy singles.

No you take it somewhere in the last 10 overs with either you big hitters coming up or your set batsmen.
It depends on team really, if you're Pakistan and you've got Misbah and Yonuis set at the 40th over, you don't take it and wait till Afridi/Razzaq come on. If you're England in this case you take it with Strauss and Bell cuz Prior/Collingwood weren't going to hit huge boundaries.
With India, they could've taken their PP anywhere cuz all their guys can hit big.
In the end, its a tie but Jimmy Anderson for England is mightily struggling, going for almost 10 an over. As for as India, they have HUGE bowling issues, if you can't defend 338 in 50 overs then you're not gonna win the cup. England bowling is ok wait till they face Saffies, Ausies, Pakistan bowling lineups and it could be real trouble.
