When I used to play more regularly and well (check my my stats from 3-4 years ago), it was basically pointless to keep track of the random idiots early in a tourney. I really started watching for betting patters once it got down to the final 50 or so (in bigger tournaments), and I actually made notes on players. I was also an an avid reader and contributor to 2+2... Basically, this whole interwebz thing came 20 years too late for me. If only I had access to online poker when my mind was supple and brilliant at 18...

I used to play 3-4 tourneys at a time in my late 30's, and I could play them all well. At 18-21 I can see being able to handle 20 tables - still seems sub-optimal, but who knows...
