Here's my problem with that. The guy has had multiple marriages and had kids. At some point you have to stop living for yourself and start living at least paritially for the people immediately around you.
Being the frat house partier is cool, but once you hit 35 or 40 maybe its time to stop and grow up. Sheen isn't just harming himself, but he's also harming everyone around him, so in that way he's you're typical addict in that he brings destruction to everyone around him.
You could argue that John Belushi was cool, but in the end he was just another sad story who's now turned into hair and finger nails.
We know that Chris Farley was the same way and other celebs that poisoned themselves.
Addiction is no better then hanging yourself or cutting your wrists or however you want to off yourself, it just takes longer and tortures those around you.
Living life for you is never living life for yourself.

I really enjoyed it for the first couple of years, but now they're just re running the same plots over and over again.
