In Survivor Australia, they did that and you'll recall the tribe members were on the brink of starvation.
And what happens when people are on the brink of starvation? They lay around all day and don't talk.
Subsequent Survivors have ensured they at least have the energy to appear animated and involved in the game.
On OLN a few years ago, there was a very keen variation of Survivor set in British Columbia, looked like it was roughly early Fall. It was quite interesting and pretty physical but also mental challenges and did NOT stick around in a particular location. A young lady eventually won $100,000 and a car after picking the quickest route to run up a mountain.
