The sun is honestly one of the best things Calgary has going for it. People don't realize this till they leave.

http://www.currentresults.com/Weathe...est-cities.php) Vancouver gets 161 days with rain. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it rains the whole day. It's not really the amount of rain Vancouver and Victoria get that is the problem. It's the fact that most of the rain comes in bunches, where you can go 1-2 weeks of straight rainy days.
I'm someone who definitely gets seasonal affective disorder, so I can understand the hesitation of moving out here. It can really be hell if you don't know how to cope with it.
