THESE elected bodies, are not. These elected bodies are enforcing the will of their own personal opinions and those of a vocal minority in the city.

Had the issue of water fluoridation come up during municipal election debate and been a platform of ANY of the candidates, I would have marched myself down to the polling station and voted for a pro-fluoride Mayor and Councillor.

But it never did. It snuck in, and was pushed through by 10 people who thought their personal opinions, feelings, and values superceded the will of the people.
If you have such a problem with fluoride removal, you could have shown up to hearings/discussions and voiced your support for fluoridation, but you didn't.

It seems you are arrogantly assuming that the city council members did not weigh the pro's and con's of the issue at hand before making a decision. Alot of new studies and information have become available since the 1980's (or 1950's in American cities) when Calgary initially voted to start fluoridating the water supply. Maybe people need updated information on fluoride risks/benefits?

I'm not sure what some are so concerned about anyways. A lack of fluoride in your water is going to make zero difference to the health of your teeth.

Even if 99% of the population supports water fluoridation, you cannot force medicate the other 1% who don't want it. If you and others love your fluoride so much, you can add fluoride tablets to your water or eat your toothpaste or whatever.
